SEVEN people have been injured after a Tesla ploughed into a group of pedestrians near a Sainsbury’s.
The horror smash happened at a junction in Stepney Green, east London, on Sunday.
Stunned onlookers could only watch as the Tesla collided into a lamppost and traffic lights.
Shards of glass and plastic were left scattered across the ground at the junction of Mile End Road and Harford Street.
The mangled white car was seen wrecked on the pavement outside a Sainsbury’s Local.
Three ambulances, a trauma team and a fire engine scrambled to the scene after reports of the horror smash.
All seven people injured in the crash were taken to hospital.
Two of the victims suffered worse injuries and needed treatment at a major trauma centre.
Shocked bystanders looked as one pedestrian filmed the horrific aftermath on their mobile phone.
Others were seen checking if people knocked to the floor were okay as the chaos unfolded.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.26pm on Sunday to reports of a road traffic collision in Mile End Road, E1.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including three ambulance crews.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first paramedic arrived in less than seven minutes.
“We treated seven patients at the scene and took them all to hospital.
“Two of these patients were taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson added: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Sunday.
“One car was in collision with a lamppost and a traffic light.
“One fire engine was in attendance from Shoreditch fire station.
The Brigade’s 999 Control officers were alerted to the incident at 7.56 pm, and the incident concluded for the brigade at 8.21 pm.
