An early morning anonymous phone call to Fort Worth police led them to a residence where they discovered a man drenched in blood, clutching a Bible, alongside a woman who had been severely beaten and succumbed to her injuries with visible trauma on her face and upper body.
The man, 23-year-old Alexander Taylor Valdez, explained to the officers upon their arrival that he had been practicing witchcraft in an attempt to end his mother’s life, and acknowledged that she was deceased inside the house. Additionally, authorities found a deceased dog in one of the rooms.
Valdez elaborated to the police that what had taken place was akin to an exorcism, before exiting the residence and seating himself on the front porch. Upon investigating further, the police discovered the lifeless body of 58-year-old Teresita Sayson in the main bedroom of the house. As per an arrest warrant, Valdez confessed to striking her numerous times with a potential weapon, potentially a jewelry box that was located at the scene containing blood and strands of hair matching his mother’s.
The anonymous caller who brought police to the home around 1:30 a.m. told dispatchers they’d received a photo via Snapchat that showed a woman covered in what appeared to be blood.
After he was brought to police headquarters for an interview, Valdez stopped talking and asked for an attorney.
He was charged with murer and ordered held on a $750,000 bond.
