Cheryl Holsonbake drove for two hours in the scorching summer heat to Kern County, California, determined to search any land that resembled a potential grave site.
The matriarch was joined by two other mothers in search of answers for their children.
Recalling her efforts to find her son, Holsonbake shared with Fox News Digital, “We took shovels and searched for my son. I believed that if I could physically search and locate him, I could bring him back home to his family. That was our mission on weekends.”

Today, the surviving “Bakersfield 3” moms are urging anyone with information to come forward.
She urged the public to consider, “Could a piece of information help a mother locate her child or uncover a shallow grave? Would you want someone to do the same for you?” Holsonbake emphasized, “Reach out to us. We are here to listen because my search will continue. We will take it from there.”
“The Bakersfield 3: A Tale of Murder and Motherhood” premieres May 11th at 8 p.m. on ID and will stream on Max.
