Tim McGraw Cried for Hours after Helping Daughter to Leave Home – She Turned 26 Now Praised for Showing Her Underwear

Tim McGraw is blessed with three daughters, Gracie McGraw, Audrey Caroline McGraw, and Maggie Elizabeth McGraw.

Tim recently revealed how he felt when his daughter Gracie moved out of their home to start her own life. He noted that the moment was not easy for him.

The singer opened up on Audacy’s “Rob +Holly” podcast and admitted that it was hard at first for him to let Gracie move out from home.

He noted that children moving out of home was always harder for moms than it was for dads. However, he said that when it came to him, “there were a lot of tears.”

Tim revealed this information while talking about his new album as he said his daughter moving out was also connected to one of his new songs.

Tim also said he helped Gracie get to Los Angeles when she moved out, “I drove cross-country with her. I took all the seats out of my Cadillac Escalade and loaded it up with all of her stuff.”

The singer, who has promoting his a new album, said driving his daughter to another state was a bonding experience for them, but it was also challenging:

“When I dropped her off, I just lost it. And then I had to drive home all by myself. I was crying the whole time.”

The “I Need You” singer said his new album would include a new song about the challenging and teary moment when he had to let his daughter leave home.

Tim said the emotional song in his new album was written by guitar player Bob Minner. He noted that he called Bob when he was driving back home, and they had a heart-to-heart talk about the experience. Bob decided to write a song based on his trip to Los Angeles.

The singer and his wife Faith Hill are now empty nesters after their youngest daughter Audrey also left home. The couple admitted that it was difficult for them to adjust to living without their kids at home. Tim said:

“You’re used to getting up in the morning, taking kids to school, going to softball practices and basketball practices and cheerleader practices and all of a sudden all that’s gone when your last one leaves.”

Tim said he missed his daughter Faith as she would always come back from school and make sure something was cooking. He added that he missed having his kids come home and smell what Faith was preparing, as they would always be excited about having dinner together. “I miss their energy,” he confessed.

The “Humble and Kind” singer said there was a time their house hosted about 15 teenage girls who would talk about boys and everything going on in their lives. But now things have changed as much as they are still close with their kids and talk all the time. He added:

“But it’s difficult when your kids leave. All of a sudden, they don’t need you as much anymore. And I think it’s probably more difficult for Mom.”

Faith also opened up about their empty nest. She noted that she was grateful their children still wanted to spend time with them. She revealed that one Thanksgiving, Audrey and Faith spent the day at their home in Nashville cooking.

Tim’s daughters visited their parents when they were shooting the “1883” series, a prequel to “Yellowstone.” Tim revealed that their daughters were “Yellowstone” fans and were excited to ride horses and watch their parents work together when they visited them on set. He said:

“I think they’re pretty proud of it and it makes us happy that they can be excited about something we’re doing together.”

The couple’s daughter love to spend special occasions with their parents even though they have moved out of their home. The girls joined Tim and Faith when they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Gracie recently turned 26, and Tim was so happy that he shared an emotional post on Instagram to celebrate his daughter. He said Gracie brought so much sunlight to their life as a couple when she was born. He added:

“Your Mom and I thought we knew love, then when you came along we realized what love really is. You made our love for each other stronger and in turn, revealed a world of love that we had never known before. You, our first, our beloved Gracie.”

Tim told Gracie that, as parents, they were so proud of the young lady she had become. He noted that his daughter made the lives of everyone she met richer. “You are a treasure and we love you so much,” he confessed.

Gracie, who revealed that she is single, said that she has her eyes on Oscar-nominated actor Paul Mescal, who starred in the musical-drama film “Carmen.”
