The Mesa Police Department has released the missing person report for a girl who was later found dismembered.
In a previous report by CrimeOnline, it was mentioned that Arizona officials disclosed on February 27 that dismembered human remains discovered in garbage bags near U.S. Highway 60 in Globe at the start of that month were identified as belonging to Emily Pike. Pike went missing from a group home in Mesa on January 27.
ABC 15 reported on the missing person report they received, which provides a timeline of the ongoing case.
– January 27: After 8 p.m., police received a missing person call for Pike from the group home manager.
On January 28, it was relayed to the authorities that Pike was taking medications for behavioral and mental health issues, as informed by a staff member from the group home. Additionally, Pike’s case manager from the San Carlos Apache Tribe was also brought to the attention of the police on that day.
– January 29: At 3:35 p.m., a statewide missing persons bulletin was released.
By February 11, law enforcement was informed by an employee at the group home that a voicemail dated February 2—although only accessed on February 7—was left by an unknown person. The voicemail alleged that Emily was at San Carlos Apache Tribal Land with her mother.
Later that day, Pike’s case manager questioned Pike’s mother about the message. The mother stated that Pike was not there and that it was an “old post.”
– February 14: CrimeOnline reported that remains were found in bags off Highway 60 in Globe.
– February 19: The Mesa Police Department was contacted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, which believed that a Jane Doe they found might be Pike.
– February 27: A month after Pike was reported missing, authorities announced that the dismembered remains found were indeed Pike’s.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, during a vigil on March 15, the San Carlos Apache Tribe announced a reward to honor Pike. The tribe is offering a $75,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case, according to 12 News.
