A police sergeant who murdered his wife accidentally shot their 10-year-old daughter as she reportedly tried to protect her mother.
Amanda Fernandes Carvalho was killed by her husband, Samir do Nascimento Rodrigues de Carvalho, on May 7.
He shot her three times and then stabbed her 51 times, which killed the mother at the scene at the clinic in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The local media outlet G1 reported that the autopsy revealed several stab wounds concentrated on the right side of the victim’s body, including injuries to the thigh and face.
Heartbreakingly, the couple’s 10-year-old daughter was also shot as she tried to protect her mother from the horrific attack.
The sergeant was caught red-handed and was taken into custody as the 42-year-old’s mother’s body was left with ‘the knife lodged in her neck’.
Amanda was described by a friend as ‘joyful, loyal, and friendly person, always ready to help everyone’.
In a statement to police, the owner of the clinic described seeing Amanda nervous and told him she was being threatened by her husband.

The autopsy report, obtained by G1 , found most of the stab wounds hit the right side of her body, with blows to the sigh and the face.
‘My husband is with me, he’s armed, he’s a police officer and he wants to kill me because we’re separating,’ Amanda reportedly told the doctor.
The mother had arrived with her daughter at the dermatologist clinic when her husband arrived.
She reportedly had already told friends that she was living fearing Samir could try to kill her.
She then hid in a room with her daughter, whilst the doctor was in another room, and called the police.
He then entered the clinic and then shot his wife and then stabbed her 51 times.
The doctor in the adjacent room described securing the office door with two chairs out of fear it would be forced open during the incident.
He reported hearing a knock at the door and asked who was there, receiving no response.
A male voice was also heard saying, ‘You can open it, it’s the police, everything is under control.’
Upon verifying the presence of uniformed officers, the doctor cautiously opened the door slightly and sought refuge behind his desk. He then caught sight of an officer down the hall, shortly before a barrage of over ten gunshots rang throughout the area.

He then hid under his desk for safety, believing the shooter began firing from outside the room.
When he stepped outside and saw the girl had been shot, he jumped to her rescue and described seeing Amanda’s body with a knife ‘lodged in her neck and drenched in blood’
He remained there until police restrained the attacker.
São Paulo Public Security Secretariat said in a statement that officers arrived to find Amanda was already dead.
Samir was arrested and he is now been temporarily suspended from the force which means he also loses the right to a salary and the service time is not counted.
Samir’s defence barrister Paulo de Jesus said that the defence will only make a statement once the investigations are concluded.
Following the tragic death, Amanda’s friend, Janaina Rolo, paid tribute to the mother telling local media: ‘She was someone who lived solely for her children, her work, and her family.
‘As much as possible, she was a joyful, loyal, and friendly person, always ready to help everyone.
‘He constantly threatened her, and this wasn’t a recent development. He was always jealous of her, and Amanda was someone who worked hard to achieve her goals, so financially she [outdid him]. He couldn’t accept that and would look for excuses to argue and physically assault her.’
She went on to say: ‘[Amanda] would call me, and I had to go to her house in the middle of the night because he was threatening her. More recently, he started accusing her of being with one man or another, demanding she confirm it, but she always denied it.
‘They were married, and she tried to separate several times, but he would threaten in front of the children that he would kill everyone.
‘He said he would kill her if she reported him. If she tried to escape, he would kill her mother and grandmother.’
