On Wednesday, Ohio police arrested a 13-year-old boy for killing a woman who was found dead in her home last week.
Sheila Tenpenny, 64, was found deceased in her Fairfax home on February 2. Officials said Tenpenny lived alone, and the 12-year-old — who has not been publicly identified — broke into her home and killed her.
Tenpenny’s brother called 911, claiming he discovered Tenpenny “stripped naked” with a pillow over her face. The brother said he believed she was raped, according to WKRC.
“She did not respond when I yelled at her,” he said.
Tenpenny’s brother claimed he found her door partially open, which was suspicious because she never left it open. He also told the 911 dispatcher he knew of “absolutely nobody” who would want to harm his sister.
It is unclear how Tenpenny died, and officials have not disclosed whether she was sexually assaulted. After her death, officials said the suspect was injured in the slaying and would have cuts or bruises on his hands, wrists, and arms.
According to WCPO, police said blood was on the bed that Tenpenny was found on. Cleaning supplies were reportedly also discovered at the crime scene.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that the 12-year-old was formally charged with Tenpenny’s murder on Thursday. His connection to the victim remains undisclosed.
