‘WOKE’ paper straws will soon be a thing of the past if President Trump gets his wish to bring back plastic.
He announced the plan on Truth Social to sign an Executive Order to get rid of the “ridiculous” items, which he also blamed Biden for.

Last Friday, the President stated that he plans to sign an Executive Order in the upcoming week to end the initiative for Paper Straws, calling it a ridiculous push by Biden as he believes paper straws are ineffective and advocates for a return to using plastic straws.
When asked about the decision at the White House, Trump said: “I do think we have bigger problems than plastic straws.
“You know, it’s interesting about plastic straws. So, you have a little straw.
“But what about the plates, the wrappers and everything else that are much bigger and they’re made of the same material?
“So the straws are interesting. Everybody focuses on the straws. There’s a lot of other things to focus. But it’s an interesting question.”
The decision has been supported by his fanbase, with the post receiving 20,000 likes in under an hour on the platform.
Positive reactions have also come from his close allies, including Elon Musk.
The billionaire and owner of X posted: “Greatest President ever!” in response to Trump’s Truth Social decree.
Musk has also been supported in the comments of his post, as Americans praise Trump for his choice.
One person replied: “This is my politics.”
Another X user wrote: “This alone should get him on Mt Rushmore.”
And a third said: “Stuff like this just makes me smile in a huge way. Return to common sense.”
Some cities in the country have already passed legislation limiting or banning the sale or use of straws by businesses.
This move was bolstered by concerns about plastic pollution harming the world’s oceans.
Some large corporations, such as Starbucks, have even vowed to stop offering plastic straws in all their stores.
The use of plastic straws was widely ended in the last few years due to environmental concerns.
Biodegradable paper straws have grown in popularity — but they’re often criticized for dissolving or affecting the taste of beverages.
Although the United States did not have a nationwide ban on plastic straws at a specific moment, cities like Seattle and Washington D.C. took steps to implement their own bans on plastic straws in the years 2018 and 2019.
For those ready to swear off paper straws for good, the official Trump store is selling selling 10-packs of branded plastic straws for $15.
The website says: “liberal paper straws don’t work.”
“STAND WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP and buy your pack of recyclable straws today,” the website adds.
The straws are nine inches long and are bright red in colour – a theme that covers many Trump products including his MAGA baseball hats.
TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDERS
The announcement of this planned Executive Order is just one example of many that Trump has signed since coming into office.
On Thursday, Trump took further action by signing an Executive Order that imposes sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC). The President’s order was based on the accusation that the ICC has been engaging in actions that are deemed baseless and not valid, particularly targeting both the United States and its close ally, Israel.
The sweeping measure slaps financial and visa restrictions on individuals and their families who assist in ICC investigations of American citizens or allies.
Trump’s order warns that the ICC’s recent actions “set a dangerous precedent” by exposing American officials to “harassment, abuse and possible arrest.”
“This malign conduct in turn threatens to infringe upon the sovereignty of the United States and undermines the critical national security and foreign policy work of the United States government and our allies, including Israel,” the order states.
Trump also recently signed an Executive Order banning transgender women from taking part in female sports in the US.
The order allows US government agencies to deny money to schools that allow transgender athletes to compete on women’s teams.
On the signing, Trump said: “From now on women’s sports will be only for women.
“With this executive order the war on women’s sports is over.
“If you let men take over women’s sports teams or invade your locker rooms, you will be investigated… and risk your federal funding.”
