Trump Jr lands in Greenland as president-elect dad wants US to BUY territory…& repeats call for Canada to be 51st state

TRUMP Jr has landed in Greenland, sparking fresh rumours that his president-elect dad is serious about snapping up the icy island.

A highly publicized visit has sparked speculation, particularly as former President Donald Trump has reiterated his controversial proposal to annex Canada as the 51st state of the United States.

Footage of Trump Jr strolling across a snowy Nuuk tarmac aired on Danish TV on Tuesday, confirming the trip many had speculated about.

According to Greenland’s foreign affairs department, this is an unofficial visit set to last just a few hours, with no formal meetings planned.

But that hasn’t stopped chatter that Trump’s eldest son could be window shopping Greenland for the family’s next big deal.

On Truth Social, Trump couldn’t resist hyping his son’s trip.

He wrote on Monday: “I am hearing that the people of Greenland are ‘MAGA’.

“My son, Don Jr, and various representatives, will be traveling there to visit some of the most magnificent areas and sights.

“Greenland is an incredible place, and the people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation.

“We will protect it, and cherish it, from a very vicious outside World. MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s land grab dreams

Trump Jr’s Greenland trip is the latest twist in his dad’s eyebrow-raising push to expand U.S. territory.

Alongside claiming Greenland, Trump has openly contemplated seizing the Panama Canal and, most shockingly, turning Canada into a U.S. state.

During a recent speech, Trump criticized the decision made by former President Jimmy Carter to transfer control of the Panama Canal to Panama for a symbolic one-dollar fee, stating that Panama was expected to treat the U.S. favorably in return.

Trump claimed that it was the “most expensive structure ever built in the history of our country”, only to be monopolized by China.

“China is running the Panama Canal,” he said.

Trump said US ships have been overcharged in the canal but “those days are over”.

Trump has also been hammering the idea of annexing Canada on Truth Social, claiming: “Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State.

“They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!”

The timing of this visit adds to the existing tension in Ottawa, as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stepped down as the leader of his party in the wake of Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland’s sudden resignation.

Trump has taken to calling Trudeau the “governor of Canada” while threatening a brutal 25% tariff on Canadian imports.

He says the tariff, which he vows to impose on day one of his presidency, will stay until Canada sorts out issues like fentanyl smuggling and illegal immigration.

Trump said during his address on Tuesday: “We’re gonna put very serious tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

“They [immigrants] come through Canada too, and the drugs that are coming through are at record numbers.

“We wanna get along with everyone but it takes two to tango.”

Trump’s moves have sparked outrage across the border, with Canadian officials calling his comments “humiliating” and a “thinly veiled threat.”

Greenland: Don’s Arctic prize

While his Canada comments have raised eyebrows, Trump’s desire to buy Greenland is nothing new.

The island is packed with valuable resources like rare earth minerals and sits at a key spot between the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.

Back in 2019, Trump called buying Greenland a “great real estate deal”, but Denmark and Greenlandic leaders swiftly shot the idea down.

Still, Trump has doubled down, recently declaring that “the United States owning Greenland is an absolute necessity for national security and freedom.”

But in his New Year’s address, Greenland’s Prime Minister Múte Egede clapped back, accusing Trump of treating the island like a pawn in a geopolitical chess game.

“Greenland is not for sale and never will be,” he declared.

Denmark, meanwhile, hasn’t taken Trump’s comments lightly either.

King Frederic X updated the royal coat of arms to give Greenland’s iconic polar bear a bit more prominence in a reminder that the Arctic territory isn’t up for grabs.

Even though Greenlandic officials are trying to play down Trump Jr’s visit by calling it a “private trip”, the timing is impossible to ignore.

Local media speculate Trump Jr might be using his brief stay to film content for his podcast – Triggered with Don Jr – which frequently promotes his dad’s political agenda.

As Trump gears up to take office on January 20, his territorial ambitions — whether it’s annexing Greenland, reclaiming the Panama Canal, or turning Canada into “America’s hat” — are making waves.

And while critics slam his plans as reckless and absurd, they’ve struck a chord with Trump’s base, who see his moves as proof he’s putting America first.
