Trump launches airstrikes on Houthi terror group and threatens ‘hell will rain down upon you’ if attacks don’t stop

TRUMP has launched a devastating attack on Houthi rebels in Yemen and sent a stark warning to the group and its Iranian backers.

The US President ordered a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in response to the Houthi terror group’s attacks.

Trump posted a message on his Truth Social platform directly addressing the group, stating, “YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!”

Trump also warned Iran to stop supporting the group, and promised to hold them “fully accountable”.

He emphasized the immediate necessity to cease support for the Houthi terrorists, warning against threatening the American people, their duly elected President, who secured one of the largest mandates in Presidential History, and global shipping lanes.

“If you do, BEWARE, because America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it!”

The Houthis reported the explosions on Saturday evening.

Images shared on social media showed black smoke over the area of the Sanaa airport complex, including a military facility.

The Houthi-run health ministry said that 13 have been killed and a further nine injured in the attack.

The airstrikes come in response to the group’s attacks on military and commercial ships in the Red Sea.

The attacks began shortly after the beginning of the war in Gaza, and supposedly targeted vessels with links to Israel and its allies.

But many of the vessels targeted had no connection with Israel.

Since October 2023, more than 100 merchant vessels have been attacked by the Houthis.

The group has seized one vessel and managed to sink two in the vicious campaign that has killed four sailors.

According to Trump the attacks have also cost the US and world economy “BILLIONS” of dollars.

While the Houthis had refrained from attacks during the ceasefire, they announced their intention on Wednesday to resume hostilities. This decision came following Israel’s cessation of aid supplies to Gaza, a move intended to exert pressure on Hamas during negotiations to prolong their truce.

The group added that the warning also affected the Gulf of Aden, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Arabian Sea.

Trump’s attack was carried out by the USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group, which includes the carrier, three Navy destroyers and one cruiser.

The carrier strike group is currently in the Red Sea.

This is not the first time that the US has attacked the Houthi rebel group.

Back in October the US launched a B-2 Stealth Bomber attack on the group in Yemen.

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed at the time that the attack targeted “five hardened underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.”
