Two Oregon men who vanished while searching for Sasquatch on Christmas Eve were found dead in a Washington state forest on Saturday, officials said.
Two men, ages 59 and 37, are believed to have perished due to exposure at Gifford-Pinchot National Forest in Lewis County. Reports from Oregon Public Broadcasting indicated that the men were hiking in an area hit by heavy rain and freezing temperatures, potentially contributing to their demise.
Although the identities of the men have not been disclosed, they were discovered in a densely forested area after being declared missing on Christmas. Skamania County authorities mentioned that the individuals were not adequately prepared for the severe weather conditions in that region.
Following the grim discovery of the bodies, KOIN disclosed an unfortunate incident where rescue equipment was stolen from the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team. Despite this setback, the dedicated nonprofit organization, which does not receive government funding, managed to raise $12,000 to replace the stolen equipment in response to the apparent theft over the weekend.
