THE assassin who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson left a message on the bullets he used in the murder, a report claims.
The suspect, who remains at-large, shot down the insurance boss outside a Midtown hotel on Wednesday.
Cops are now desperately hunting for the shooter and looking for any evidence to identify the masked man.
Police sources informed the New York Post that clues such as the words “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” were discovered on live rounds and shell casings.
The NYPD is now investigating the message and has recovered three live 9mm rounds and three discharged casings.
The killer may have been trying to leave a message, sources said.
The New York Police Department stated that Thompson was brutally shot several times in the back and leg at around 6:45 am while entering the New York Hilton Midtown.
A chilling surveillance video from The U.S. Sun captures the instance when a shooter wearing a mask and hood approaches the CEO from behind and fires a deadly round of shots.
Thompson did not have security with him at the time despite UnitedHealth Group having an in-house security team.
A terrified witness who was inches away from the shooting sprinted for her life as the suspect eerily walked away into an alley.
After the heartless killing, the suspect got on a nearby e-bike and jetted toward Central Park.
