Authorities are actively looking for a young man, aged 18, who disappeared after departing from his residence in Caldicot during the early morning hours.
Video surveillance recorded Joseph Bellamy cycling on a red bicycle towards the M48 bridge shortly after departing between midnight and 1 am on December 3.
Law enforcement characterizes him as caucasian, standing at 6 feet tall, with light brown hair and blue eyes.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing light jeans, black high-top Nike trainers, a black teddy fleece jumper, and a black sweatshirt.
Joseph’s mum took to Facebook to make a heartfelt plea urging her son to come home.
She wrote: “Joseph my love. Please, please come home. We all need you here with us.
“Everything can be fixed, and made better. Whatever it is. Please, please come home to us.
“We all love you so much. You are wanted by all of your family.
“Me & you can work things out step by step, side by side. Always here for you, forever Mum.
“Thank you for all the lovely messages about Joseph. He is still missing. To those who don’t know him, please look at his face.”
Gwent Police has urged anyone with information to get in touch immediately.
Officers are also asking motorists who were in the area or crossing the bridge between 12:30am and 1:30am to check their dashcam footage.
They are encouraging Joseph to make contact with them or his family to let them know he is safe.
Joseph’s mum added: “He is vulnerable, please share. If you see him, or know of anything, I beg you to please contact Gwent Police.
