The authorities carried out a daring rescue recently when a young person on a fishing expedition got bitten by a rattlesnake in a remote area of the western North Carolina mountains.
Responding to the emergency, the State Emergency Operations Center sent a North Carolina National Guard Black Hawk helicopter to the location in Avery County, along with rescue specialists from the Charlotte Fire Department.
“The individual was safely rescued and is currently undergoing medical care at the hospital,” stated North Carolina Emergency Management in a Facebook update on June 5.
The snake bite victim, Zain Shah, thanked first responders in the comments section.

A timber rattlesnake will prop itself upright and make a rattling noise with its tail when threatened – a warning that it is about to strike. They range in size from about 2.5 to 5 feet on average.
The pit vipers can be found across the eastern United States, with sightings ranging from Texas to Iowa to the Carolinas and north to Pennsylvania and New England, according to the National Zoo.
