The driver hit the turkey, causing it to crash through the car’s windshield. Pictures from the fire department reveal a damaged front windshield and feathers scattered around the driver’s seat inside the vehicle.
Despite the turkey not surviving the collision, the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital “in good spirits.”

The department mentioned, “This serves as a valuable reminder to be cautious of animals while on the road.” Garland Fire has witnessed several vehicle accidents involving wildlife such as Elk and Moose along this particular section of the interstate. As the temperature rises, more wildlife sightings are expected.
