I am incredibly grateful to Alyssa Farah Griffin for bringing Bravo-related Hot Topics segments to The View. On the recent episode of the esteemed daytime talk show, the hosts delved into the dramatic Season 5 finale of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Interestingly, Griffin confessed to “venting” about some of her co-hosts, mirroring the behavior seen on the reality TV show.
The finale featured a scene where cast member Heather Gay proposed that everyone share the meanest text they had ever sent about another group member. The intention behind this exercise was to address any lingering issues and pave the way for a fresh start. However, tensions escalated when Lisa Barlow took offense to Whitney Rose’s message concerning her.
After airing a clip from the show, Sara Haines, a co-host of The View, pondered how the women on the reality series would be able to move beyond the hurtful messages they had written about each other.
Griffin, a Bravo superfan, called the scene “Mean Girls on steroids.” But since she was clearly the only one at the table who knew how these shows work, she rightfully added, “Andy Cohen deserves all of the awards for this show. It is perfection.”
The former White House staffer, who sometimes spars with her co-hosts over politics, seemed more shocked that the women would put their harsh words in writing. After all, that’s not how she vents when she gets annoyed with her co-workers!
“We’ve all, I’m sure, had frustrations with each other that, I’m sure, I’ve vented to [executive producer Brian Teta] about some of you,” she said. “I wouldn’t commit it to writing so that it can be brought up at a later date. Because that’s what you’re saying when you feel it then you move on with your life.”
Oh, to be a fly on the way when Griffin has meetings with Teta!
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
