The San Diego Police Department in California is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying an individual who posed as a rideshare driver and allegedly sexually assaulted a woman who entered his vehicle.
According to reports, at approximately 1:10 a.m. on March 15, a woman entered the backseat of a car she believed to be the rideshare she had requested, in the Pacific Beach vicinity.
Authorities revealed that the unidentified man behind the wheel of the vehicle falsely claimed to be the woman’s rideshare driver and proceeded to transport her away from her designated pickup location for several miles.
He then allegedly sexually assaulted the woman before she was able to get out of the vehicle.
Anyone who believes they were sexually assaulted by the same man, or who may have information about the suspect is encouraged to notify the San Diego Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit at 619-531-2554.
