Interestingly, it has recently come to light that the Biden State Department was also engaging in this practice, albeit in a different manner. It has been revealed that the State Department’s television sets during the Biden administration frequently broadcast Venezuelan propaganda. This begs the question – why?
Reports suggest that the Biden State Department’s office TVs were tuned in to a Venezuelan propaganda channel funded by the state. Some critics argue that this channel operates as an unregistered foreign agent that promotes the interests of anti-American entities. This information was brought to light by The Daily Wire.
TVs at the Biden State Department were tuned into Telesur, a state-funded Venezuelan outlet that received 70 percent of its initial funding from the regime of anti-American socialist Hugo Chavez and even featured Chavez’s weekly show, “Alo, Presidente,” while he was alive.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this wasn’t being done in the name of gathering signals intelligence. We’ve speculated in the past that the Biden administration, which was maybe an even more left-wing administration than the Obama administration, relied on Gen Z staffers to make decisions and drive policy. Could these young skulls full of leftist mush be responsible for this?
Telesur, the propaganda outlet in question, is a particularly egregious far-left effort, maybe even more radical than “The View.” And it’s not just funded by Venezuela. There are more of the Latin American usual suspects involved.
The outlet also receives funding from the left-wing governments of Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Bolivia, and has been slammed as a purveyor of “fake news, ‘whataboutism,’ and disinformation” as it works to “demonize the West, undermine the credibility of Western news outlets, paint Western leaders as hypocrites, and promote a narrative of global resistance against America and its allies.”
This is the same totalitarian government that says they won’t take back any of their own people who are illegally in the United States, but that there’s a new sheriff in town now – that town being Washington, D.C – so it’s likely that we’ll see that changing before long.
