One of the shocking revelations was the consideration by aides of Biden possibly needing a wheelchair during the last eighteen months of his term. This idea was dismissed as it was believed it would validate Donald Trump’s criticisms of Biden.
A particularly alarming detail was the statements made by individuals close to Biden, suggesting that the priority was to ensure he made it through to 2024, with the actual governance being orchestrated by unelected officials working behind the scenes.
“He just had to win, and then he could disappear for four years. He’d only have to show proof of life every once in a while. His aides could pick up the slack,” one longtime Biden aide reportedly told the authors, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson.
