Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are reprising their roles in the sequel Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which hits theaters this weekend. The film continues the story from the 2018 heist movie Den of Thieves, bringing back familiar faces for another thrilling adventure.
The movie is written and directed by Christian Gudegast, the creative force behind the first installment. In Den of Thieves 2, sheriff “Big Nick” O’Brien (played by Butler) is once again on the trail of the elusive criminal Donnie Wilson (portrayed by Jackson Jr.), who has fled to Europe and is gearing up for another daring robbery. Joining the cast are returning actor Meadow Williams, along with Evin Ahmad, Salvatore Esposito, and Swen Temmell.
Originally slated for a 2024 release, Den of Thieves 2 was postponed but is now ready to hit the big screen. Fans can expect the same level of action and suspense that made the first film a hit, with new twists and turns to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
For now, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters in the U.S. on Friday, January 10. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Den of Thieves 2 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Den of Thieves 2 is not streaming on Netflix, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Lionsgate release in the U.K., and will likely stream on Starz, the streaming platform owned by Lionsgate, instead.
You will be able to purchase Den of Thieves 2 on Amazon Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Den of Thieves 2 on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription, because it is not a Prime original movie. If you want to watch Den of Thieves 2 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Starz.
Den of Thieves 2 is not yet streaming on Starz. You might see Den of Thieves 2 on Starz in spring 2025, because that is the streaming platform owned by Lionsgate. Another Lionsgate film, Borderlands, was released on premium video-on-demand after three weeks in theaters, and began streaming on Starz on December 25, about four and a half months after the movie opened in the theaters.
If Den of Thieves 2 follows the same release pattern, you can expect to see the movie on digital by the end of this month, and on Starz in about four and a half months, which would be around late May 2025.
But this is all speculation. If you want to watch Den of Thieves 2: Pantera right away, you can watch it in a movie theater.
