Is Robert Pattinson’s ‘Mickey 17’ Movie Streaming on Netflix or HBO Max?

The wait for Mickey 17 is almost over as Oscar-winner Bong Joon-ho’s highly anticipated follow-up to Parasite is finally hitting theaters this weekend. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing Robert Pattinson’s newest quirky character on the silver screen.

Written and directed by Bong Joon-ho, who previously won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay for 2019’s Parasite, Mickey 17 is a fresh dark sci-fi comedy that narrates the tale of an expendable clone named Mickey (Pattinson). In his role, Mickey is tasked by his corporate employer to undertake perilous and deadly missions on a human settlement in space. This specific version of Mickey is the seventeenth iteration, and he is mistakenly declared deceased. Upon his return, he discovers that he has been replaced by Mickey 18.

The movie also features Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. Mickey 17 assures to deliver the same level of zany, eccentric, intelligent, and endlessly enjoyable content as Bong’s previous cinematic works.

Here’s what to know about where to watch Mickey 17, and when we expect to see Mickey 17 streaming on Max.

Watch Mickey 17

Right now, Mickey 17 is only available to watch in a movie theater when it opens in theaters on Friday, March 7. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. However, we do expect Mickey 17 to be on streaming eventually.

Mickey 17 is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Warner Bros. release, will have a streaming home on the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service, Max (formerly HBO Max). If you want to watch the new Mickey 17 movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Max.

Mickey 17 is not yet streaming on Max. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Mickey 17 streaming on Max eventually—but we’re not sure when.

All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title.  Joker: Folie à Deux, for example, was released on PVOD three-and-a-half weeks after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Max on December 13, a little over two months after it was released in theaters. If Mickey 17 follows a similar release pattern, you may see the movie on digital around the first week of April 2025, and streaming on Max around mid-May 2025.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. Mickey 17 is a highly anticipated release, and the studio might want to keep it in theaters for longer. In the meantime, you can always catch Mickey 17 in theaters.
