Disney has finally dropped the trailer for the highly anticipated Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, and fans are pleasantly surprised.
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are set to return to their famous roles in the upcoming movie. However, what truly has fans excited is not the familiar faces but the unexpected appearance of heartthrob Chad Michael Murray making a striking entrance at the end of the trailer.
Fans on social media are rightfully freaking out to see Murray reprising his role as Jake, Lohan’s high school flame.
“This is the only reason I’m intrigued in Freakier Friday. The trailer lacked soul. But this man showed up at the end,” one fan wrote.
Adding to the excitement is the casting of Manny Jacinto from “The Good Place” as Lohan’s on-screen husband, turning up the heat in this Disney sequel.
“MANNY JACINTO AND CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY IN ONE FILM,” another viewer wrote on X.
Freakier Friday follows Anna, played by Lohan, who finds herself navigating the challenges of being a mother to her teenage daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter. Things take a wild turn when Anna and Tess (Curtis) discover that they have swapped bodies once again, only this time with Anna’s own kids.
Many may remember Jake as the high school bad boy Tess disapproved of until she got to know him when she was in Anna’s place. What will it mean for Anna’s new relationship when she gets to see her high school sweetheart again?
The new film also stars Julia Butters, Mark Harmon, Rosalind Chao, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Freakier Friday premieres exclusively in theaters Aug. 8, 2025.
