China may have just completed the first flight of its new sixth-generation fighter jet, a pivotal moment in the world of advanced military aircraft.
Social media footage and images captured the secretive aircraft taking to the skies for a daytime test run, accompanied by a two-seater Chengdu J-20S fighter plane acting as a support craft.
The impressive display occurred in Chengdu, Sichuan, China on Dec. 26, a date of historical significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Mao Zedong, the revered founding figure of the People’s Republic of China.
Fifth generation aircraft incorporated stealth technology, with the sixth generation aircraft promising further advancements.

This new aircraft is the latest in a series of milestones for China’s aviation. At the Zhuhai Airshow, China unveiled the J-35A fifth-generation fighter jet and the J-15T fighter.
