China may have just completed the first flight of its new sixth-generation fighter jet, a pivotal moment in the world of advanced military aircraft.

The impressive display occurred in Chengdu, Sichuan, China on Dec. 26, a date of historical significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Mao Zedong, the revered founding figure of the People’s Republic of China.

This new aircraft is the latest in a series of milestones for China’s aviation. At the Zhuhai Airshow, China unveiled the J-35A fifth-generation fighter jet and the J-15T fighter.
