Chloe Fineman Rips “Mr. Nazi Salute” Elon Musk And Says She Has “No Regrets” Identifying Him As ‘SNL’ Host Who Made Her Cry

Chloe Fineman is not walking back any of her previous comments about Elon Musk.

Just over two months after Fineman accused the Tesla CEO of causing her to cry over critiquing a sketch she wrote on Saturday Night Live, she once again targeted Musk.

On Tuesday night (Jan. 21), she remarked on her Instagram story, “Remember when I faced backlash for calling out Mr. Nazi Salute? No regrets,” according to The Daily Beast.

Her social media post came shortly after Musk faced backlash online for a gesture he made during a speech at President Donald Trump’s inauguration, which many critics interpreted as a Nazi salute.

Fineman previously took aim at Musk after fellow SNL cast member Bowen Yang revealed on Watch What Happens Live in August 2024 that one SNL host had “made multiple cast members cry on on Wednesday before the table read because he hated the ideas.”

Fineman later opened up after Musk criticized Dana Carvey‘s impression of him from a November 2024 episode of the show, claiming that the comedy series was “so mad Donald Trump won” the election. In a video from that same month that she deleted (but was ultimately reposted online) Fineman identified herself as “the cast member that he made cry” when he hosted the show in May 2021.

“Maybe there’s others, but I saw some articles and stuff and I was like, ‘I’m not gonna say anything.’ But I’m like, no. If you’re gonna go on your platform and be rude, like guess what? You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up all night writing the sketch,” she shared. The sketch in question was titled “Ooli Show” and featured Fineman as an Icelandic talk show host and Musk as her producer. She is credited with writing the bit for Musk’s SNL episode.

Fineman added, “I was so excited. I came in, I asked if you had any questions, and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, ‘It’s not funny.’”

Musk’s response on X to Fineman’s claims in November was not too sympathetic. He wrote, “Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that ANY of the sketches generated laughs.”

“I was worried,” he continued. “I was like damn my SNL appearance is going to be so fucking unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober!! But then it worked out in the end.”
