Hallmark Christmas movie star reveals cancer diagnosis in heartbreaking Christmas Eve photos

John Reardon is widely recognized by fans for his charming roles as the leading man in numerous Hallmark holiday movies. However, on Christmas Eve, the Canadian actor bravely disclosed his harrowing battle with a life-threatening health issue.

In a joint statement with is wife Meghan Ory, 42, Reardon, 49, disclosed he had undergone treatment for tonsil cancer.

Looking handsome in a black wool coat, the Hudson and Rex star explained that Monday ‘was my first night out after my recovery from tonsil cancer.’

Tonsil cancer, as described by the Mayo Clinic, originates in the tonsils, which are a crucial part of the immune system. This type of cancer is categorized under throat cancer and typically develops in the oropharynx, the area of the throat situated behind the mouth.

Treatment can include surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

Currently appearing alongside Ory in the Hallmark Channel movie Believe in Christmas, Reardon reflected on his challenging journey, emphasizing the significant time and struggle between the filming of these two projects. This revelation came juxtaposed with a poignant image showing him undergoing medical treatment in a hospital setting.

Reardon’s recovery was a family affair and he described how his dad ‘took me for a walk everyday even when it was hard for me to get out of bed.’

His mother kept him stocked with ‘soups and ginger honey tea and green juices so I could get calories into my body.’

He also expressed thanks to his sister and brother and his in-laws ‘who are not just in-laws they are family,’

Also included in his gratitude were ‘Our nanny, our neighbors and everyone who sent food or love and support or messages and kind words and also all the amazing doctors, nurses, technicians, hospital workers, psychologists you are all my heroes and I thank you from the bottom of my heart’.
