Chuck Schumer Goes on Self-Important, Lie-Filled Bender Over January 6

Today is January 6, and on this day, Democrats take the opportunity to showcase their perceived moral superiority, criticize Republicans, and highlight the alleged threat posed by Donald Trump.

In the spotlight is Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democrat Leader from New York, who never misses a chance to appear on camera and engage in these activities. For Democrat leaders like him, virtue signaling seems to be their go-to tactic.

One of the gestures made on this day is a moment of silence to honor those who “lost their lives as a result of what happened on January 6.” This phrasing skillfully avoids the reality that the only casualty on that day was Ashli Babbit, who was fatally shot by Officer Michael Byrd in the Capitol.

The other people who Democrats say died didn’t die as a result of January 6. For instance, Brian Sicknick died due to a stroke the following day. All other deaths that happened that day were due to things like heart attacks or a drug overdose.

Still, this isn’t something the Democrats want to talk about openly. The running narrative they want you to think is that Trump led an insurrection that conservatives and “MAGA” were more than willing to carry out.

Moreover, Schumer decided to say that he and his colleagues serve as an example for Republicans on how to act when it comes to accepting election results. Democrats have been harping on the fact that they’ve certified the election peacefully and pretending they would never sink so low as to be election deniers.

Yet, we have 24 straight minutes of Democrats denying the election of the very man they tried to say attempted to deny the 2020 election by force, which he didn’t.

Schumer’s virtue signal is just one of many January 6 “remembrances” happening today on the left, and all of them are as overblown and ridiculous as the next. As I wrote earlier on Monday, this has become something of a quasi-holy day for Democrats and leftists.

This includes politicians and media figures alike, including CNN and the hostesses of “The View,” all of whom attempted to paint January 6 as a day that would live in infamy along the likes of 9/11 and the Holocaust.

Here’s a statistic that Democrats don’t like talking about.

In 2024, a grand total of 573 homicides happened in Chicago alone… and that’s worth celebrating because this is the first time homicides were below 600 since 2019, according to ABC affiliate WLS-TV Chicago.

They want you to misunderstand January 6 to the greatest extent possible, especially when it comes to who died and why. However, they don’t seem all too concerned about the deaths that occur yearly in one of America’s major cities, and one that’s been under Democrat control for ages.

There are atrocities galore we could truly turn our attention to, but you’ll often find that the vast majority of them are happening because of decisions made by the Democrat Party. This is why when something happens that could be tied to Trump, conservatives, Republicans, or “MAGA,” they’ll pull out all the stops to make it a much bigger deal than it is.

Food for thought.
