I regret to inform you that the mainstream press is upset again, and this time it’s for a reason that will have you doing a double-take.
The frenzy surrounding Donald Trump’s potential second term has been distracting from important issues concerning Americans. However, CNN has recently unveiled an image that may go down as one of the greatest in the history of cable news. The image involves a group of young employees at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk.
A recent report by leftist news outlet ProPublica highlighted these staffers, one of whom is just 19 years old. This revelation has stirred up controversy, especially among advocates pushing to lower the voting age to 16, who are unhappy with the notion that younger individuals can be knowledgeable or involved in decision-making.
In response to this, CNN ran a segment focusing on the 19-year-old DOGE staff member, allegedly known by the online alias “Big Balls.” The network’s coverage of this individual has added fuel to the ongoing reactions and discussions about the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
REPORTER: Yeah, so this is a 19-year-old high school graduate who has used the unfortunate name “Big Balls” online so that would be one way that we could refer to him. He’s not working at Musk’s behest inside DOGE, and we looked into his background so we found several notable things, Erin, one of which is that this individual has founded multiple companies including one with another unfortuate name, “Tesla.Sexxy LLC,” which he established in 2021. He would have been around 16 years old. This LLC controls dozens of web domains.
I know I’m supposed to be a mature commentator on very serious issues, but I can’t help but laugh at this. Instead of digging into whether DOGE is accomplishing its mission to save Americans money, CNN and ProPublica are worrying about whether a data analyst once called himself “Big Balls” online. Is there any wonder CNN’s ratings are in the toilet and ProPublica has to subsist off donor cash?
Things got funnier, though. Host Erin Burnett then brought on left-wing tech reporter Kara Swisher, who has long had it out for Elon Musk, to discuss this very important, pressing matter. That’s when this happened.
The looks on their faces. The chyron boldly reading, “DOGE Teen, Known Online As “Big Balls,” Now an “Expert.” It’s simply a piece of art. If the “Newseum” still existed in Washington (it went out of business because no one cares about the supposed heroics of the legacy press) that screenshot would warrant its own exhibit. Everything about it is absurd, including the insinuation that what somebody called themselves online when they were a kid is a scandal.
What makes this so perfect is just how deeply concerned these press apparatchiks pretend to be. These are the same people who have never spent an ounce of energy worrying about the waste and corruption within the federal government when Democrats are in charge. Let Trump appoint a few people to root out that waste and corruption, though, and suddenly it’s a national emergency for CNN and the rest of the legacy media.
No one believes any of this is sincere. It’s all partisan politics, and if the press thinks they can scare DOGE off the trail by doxxing its members, they are sorely mistaken.
