Comparison of WAGs from Liverpool and Manchester United: Who is dominating off the pitch?

Without a doubt, one Premier League fixture that always lives up to expectations is a clash between Liverpool and Man United. 

While not technically a local derby due to the geographic separation of both clubs, the rivalry between them never fails to deliver excitement, as evidenced by their past encounters.

In their initial match of the season, Liverpool secured a convincing 3-0 win, with goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah overpowering a United team then led by Erik ten Hag.

Now, it’s Ruben Amorim’s chance to get one over on their Merseyside rivals, as he looks to steer United out of their current rut.

Joining Amorim in his support will be a group of key players’ wives and girlfriends, backing the Red Devils, while Liverpool’s partners are also expected to be present in the stands on the match day.

Here, Mail Sport takes a look at the WAGs on both sides ahead of the clash. 

Man United

Ana Pinho – wife of Bruno Fernandes  

Captain Bruno Fernandes has been a Man United player since 2020 but he and Ana Pinho have been together for much longer than that.

Their romance began when Fernandes, now 30, was only 17 and they have been married since 2015.

Fernandes revealed earlier this year that Ana – who is a former futsal referee – had to pay for their early dates because he was skint as a teenager.

Writing in an open letter in May, Fernandes said: ‘Ana has been with me on this ride since we were 16, 17, 18 years old.

‘We met as teenagers, and when we first started dating, I wasn’t making any money as a footballer, and she had a nice job working as a futsal referee on the weekends.

‘She used to do three or four matches in a row on a Saturday, and then we would always go to the cinema on Sundays.

‘I personally didn’t have much money at the time so Ana was the one who had to pay for our movie tickets. Same with going out to dinner. Even at the pizza shop, she had to pay.’

Dr Melanie Kamayou – wife of Andre Onana

Dr Melanie Kamayou is an entrepreneur, model and influencer.

She is also, as her title suggests, a doctor – after earning a doctorate degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health in May 2022.

Melanie hit the headlines a year earlier in 2021 after her goalkeeper husband Andre Onana was issued with a nine-month ban from all football-related activity for violating anti-doping regulations.

Onana was said to have ingested banned substance Furosemide by mistake when he took some pills that had been prescribed to his wife, after he got the packaging mixed up.

Anna Mariana Casemiro – wife of Casemiro

Anna Mariana Casemiro is her husband’s No 1 fan.

They have been married since 2014, when he was playing for Real Madrid.

Anna leapt to the defence of her man earlier this season when the Brazilian midfielder was criticised by multiple pundits after being substituted off at half-time in Man United’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool.

She fired back at Casemiro’s critics via Instagram by sharing an image of all the trophies he had won during his career, including five Champions League titles with Madrid.

Muri Lopez Benitez – girlfriend of Lisandro Martinez

Argentine centre back Lisandro Martinez and girlfriend Muri Lopez Benitez announced via Instagram earlier this month that they are expecting their first child.

Alongside a photo of their baby scan, the happy couple wrote: ‘We are immensely happy that you came into our lives!!!

‘You are the reflection of the long road we have traveled together, of each step taken with care, with conscience and with patience, but above all with love, that love that now brings us even more love! Thank you for choosing us!!!. They love you with all their soul… Mom & Dad’.

Claudia Pinto – fiancee of Diogo Dalot 

Claudia Pinto is a regular at Old Trafford, where her fiancee has been plying his trade since 2018. 

As well as being in the stands for many Man United matches, she was pictured by the side of full back Diogo Dalot in May 2023 when he signed a new contract.

Late last year, Claudia and Dalot announced the birth of their first child, a baby girl called Clara. 

Eva Garcia – girlfriend of Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho and Eva Garcia are both from Madrid, although the Man United forward plays for Argentina at international level.

They went public with their relationship at the start of 2021 and then became parents in October 2023 when Eva gave birth to their son, Enzo.

Earlier this year, it was rumoured that the couple had broken up after Eva unfollowed Garnacho on Instagram.

However, those rumours proved to be untrue. She has since re-followed him on social media, as well as posting several family photos.

Anouska Santos – girlfriend of Luke Shaw

Left back Luke Shaw has been with partner Anouska Santos since 2017.

They now have three children together.

Anouska is close friends with Molly-Mae Hague and was publicly supportive of her following the former Love Island winner’s split from Tommy Fury.

Rosilene Silva – fiancee of Antony

Man United winger Antony and girlfriend Rosilene Silva announced their engagement via Instagram in September. 

Antony and his childhood sweetheart – who have known each other since their school years in Sao Paulo – uploaded a joint post featuring three photographs.

One of the pictures showed the 24-year-old footballer proposing on bent knee. Another featured Antony kissing his bride-to-be on her cheek.

The other photo was of a heart-shaped flower arrangement that framed the words ‘Case Comigo?’, meaning ‘Marry Me?’ in Portuguese.

Rosilene accompanied the post with the message: ‘What God has in store for us is far more than we can imagine…’

Maja Nilsson – wife of Victor Lindelof

Maja Nilsson – who married United defender Victor Lindelof in 2018 – is a Swedish content creator and designer.

She founded the fashion line Lis Bonne Atelier.

Maja – who has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram – is also a UNICEF ambassador, a SENSAI makeup ambassador and a blogger for ELLE Sweden.

Fern Hawkins – wife of Harry Maguire

Former Man United skipper Harry Maguire married Fern Hawkins in 2022.

The childhood sweethearts tied the knot in the south of France. They had been engaged since 2018.

Fern is a qualified physiotherapist but it was reported earlier this year that she was planning a career change due to her passion for floristry.

LIVERPOOL

Saffie Khan – girlfriend of Curtis Jones 

Moving over to Merseyside, one of the most well-known couples are Curtis Jones and his girlfriend Saffie Khan.

Curtis first shared a photo with Saffie on his Instagram page in May 2021, however it is unclear how long the two have been together. 

Back in October, the couple announced the birth of his daughter, alongside a series of adorable photos. He wrote: ‘Giselle Delilah Jones. 13.10.24 You are our entire world.’

In the update, shared to Instagram, Curtis cradled his baby daughter in the hospital before carrying her home in a car seat. 

Another photo of Saffie showed the family arriving home to a balloon arch and decorations which read: ‘Welcome home baby Jones.’

Natalia Becker – wife of Alisson Becker

Natalia Becker, 32, who is a doctor, first met the Liverpool goalkeeper in 2012 in their native home of Brazil.

She went on to complete her degree at the Catholic University of Pelotas before they went on to marry in 2015.

Alisson previously praised his wife for leaving Brazil to move to Rome with him months after graduating.

He said: ‘That meant a lot to me. I enjoyed supporting her while she was finishing her studies at university.’

The couple welcomed their third child in 2021 following the birth of daughter Helena in 2017 and son Matteo in 2019. 

Rute Cardoso – wife of Diogo Jota

Rute Cardoso, 26, from Portugal, met her footballer beau when they were just 13-years-old.

The pair, who were school friends, have been together ever since and she has followed him wherever his football career has taken him.

From his early career training with Pacos Ferreira to Porto to a spell in Spain at Atletico Madrid and then to the Midlands with Wolves, the two have always been together.

And she appears to be a keen football fan, who regularly graces the Molineux pitch with Jota in snaps she posts on social media.

The two welcomed their first child together in February 2021. 

Following Jota’s move to Liverpool, Cardoso took to Instagram to pay tribute to Wolves, saying: ‘I would like to thank the @wolves staff and fans for the amazing time during these 3 years!

‘It was a pleasure to be part of this family.’ 

Gera Ponce – wife of Luis Diaz

Brunette beauty Gera Ponce was born in La Guajira, Colombia, just like her boyfriend Luis Diaz, 25. 

Gera graduated with a bachelors degree in economics from a local university before following Diaz when he left Colombian side Junior for Porto in Portugal. 

The Instagram star was once again by her boyfriend’s side as he made the move to Liverpool back in 2022.

Despite Diaz’s busy match schedule, the couple still find time to jet off on five-star holidays in Mexico, Ibiza and Paris. 

Luis and Gera became parents for the first time in November 2021 when they welcomed daughter Roma. 

Now the family are building a life in Merseyside, where they live in a stunning new build mansion. 

Emelia Scarlett –  girlfriend of Harvey Elliott 

TikTok star Emelia Scarlett, 21, is believed to have been dating Harvey Elliot since November 2021. 

With over 270,000 followers on the social media platform, the teenager often shares video clips dancing and showing off her latest skimpy outfits.

More recently, she has been posting a glimpse into her life with Harvey, revealing he asked her to be his girlfriend with a blue balloon.

She is also signed to M Models Management, although it is unclear if she has landed any jobs yet through the agency.

She revealed in April she was also started her own personal styling and shopping account on Instagram. 

Estelle Behnke – girlfriend to Trent Alexander-Arnold 

Amid the ongoing uncertainty around his future at Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold recently jetted to Venice with his influencer girlfriend Estelle Behnke on his day off.

The defender, who sparked rumours of his new romance last month, was snapped at the lavish Italian restaurant Regina Corner. The pair had been staying at the £1,5000-a-night Aman hotel in the idyllic city.

Alexander-Arnold and Behnke, who were recently pictured in the 26-year-old’s car as he left Anfield following the Reds’ win over Leicester City on Boxing Day, were thanked for ‘stopping by’ the Venetian restaurant during their short trip.

The pair were also spotted at the Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds with both tagging themselves there in separate Instagram posts.

Alexander-Arnold began liking the model’s Instagram posts on October 17, only a month after his split from Iris Law who he dated for five months after meeting at a Guess jeans photoshoot.

A friend said there’s ‘no bad blood’ between him and Law but added that ‘being a WAG was never really going to be her bag.’
