NEW YORK — The Never Ride Stock experience at the New York International Auto Show is one of a kind.
The exhibition acts as a focal point for dedicated car enthusiasts who are passionate about celebrating aftermarket culture and personalized style. Rob Gullery, the owner and car modifier, mentions that he experimented with various combinations before finding the ideal match.
“I was exploring different options, trying to determine what complements cars. I considered go-karts, I thought about electric bikes,” Gullery reflects, shaking his head, “It turned out to be sneakers!” He believes that many individuals purchasing high-performance cars are reconnecting with their inner child: “These individuals, when they were younger, had a strong affinity for sneakers, and now you can coordinate your sneakers with your car.”
During our visit last year, we observed Rob and the Never Ride Stock group surprising Tracy Morgan with a Rolls Royce painted entirely in black, complete with a customized pair of Nikes to match. The comedian appeared thrilled with the new design, exclaiming, “It will undoubtedly become one of the most stylish cars in New York City,” and expressing that “I might find myself wanting to be in it more now due to the attention it’ll attract!”
This year the Never Ride Stock Experience includes a tire painting exhibition, a Red Bull DJ, custom painted Porsche GT3 Rs’s and of course, custom sneakers and apparel.
The Never Ride Stock Experience lasts throughout the first weekend of the Auto Show, Friday, April 18 though Sunday, April 20, 2025
