Dean and Sam Winchester’s days on Netflix may be numbered.
Speculation has arisen that Supernatural might be facing a fate similar to other The CW series. Following The CW’s decision not to renew its output deal with Netflix in 2019, concerns have been raised about the future of this beloved fantasy show, as reported by Deadline.
The absence of this deal has led to the cancellation of various series that had long been enjoyed by viewers on Netflix, sparking disappointment among fans. This situation has prompted fears that Supernatural could be the next victim of these developments.
As per Deadline’s information, the deal between Netflix and The CW permitted the streaming of a new season just eight days after its finale had aired on The CW. Additionally, the agreement granted Netflix the exclusive rights to stream the series for around five years post-finale. Similar to shows like Jane The Virgin, removed from Netflix in September 2024, and Reign and The Vampire Diaries, removed in September 2022, Supernatural might also face a similar fate.
It looks like everyone’s favorite supernatural brothers will have to find a new home.
Since the Supernatural series finale aired in November 2020, it’s likely that the hit CW series will be removed from Netflix later this year.
What’s On Netflix estimates the series will be removed on Dec. 18 alongside Arrow and The 100. All 15 seasons of the series would hypothetically be removed.
Though series star Jared Padalecki has teased that he and Jensen Ackles were willing to revive the series in 2025 — which would likely reset the clock on Netflix’s streaming rights for the show — it looks like Supernatural will ultimately have to find a new streaming library to land on later this year.
There’s no need to worry just yet! Supernatural can still be streamed on Netflix. A confirmed removal date has not yet been announced, so fans who want to tune into the hit CW series still have some time to enjoy the series before it finds a new streaming home.
Seasons 1 through 11 of Supernatural are also available to purchase on Prime Video.
