During a recent recording of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy Kimmel surprised his own audience with an astonishing joke regarding Bill Belichick’s romance with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
The couple garnered attention over the weekend when Hudson appeared during Belichick’s interview on CBS Sunday Morning and declined to answer the interviewer’s inquiry about how they met.
“Weâre not talking about this. No,” she interjected.
Kimmel took the opportunity to speculate just how the 73-year-old former New England Patriots coach may have met the young woman.
“So I’m guessing not at church, then?” he asked.
Kimmel remarked, “I have to admit, I find this relationship fascinating. I can’t get enough of this duo. It feels like they should have a reality show. It’s as if The Golden Bachelor collided with the typical Bachelorette.”
But Kimmel then cracked a joke so shocking that it made much of the Live audience groan out loud due to what a low blow it was.
“They met at a daddy-daughter dance,” he joked. As the audience began to groan at the cringey joke, he pretended to walk it back before doubling down once again “No, no, no. They met at a swing set,” he added.
According to reports from behind the scenes of Belichick’s 60 Minutes interview, the show chose to include Hudson’s interruption because it was not the only time she interrupted the interview.
TMZ reports she also interrupted on “numerous other instances” and, at one point, “stormed out of the room and delayed shooting for 30 minutes.”
There are also reports that those close to Belichick are concerned about Hudson’s increasing influence on his life. NBC Sports reports she is involved in email correspondence regarding his work at University of North Carolina. She also reportedly helped negotiate with NFL films regarding a potential documentary.
Perhaps Kimmel can help the couple land a reality show on ABC, just like Alec Baldwin and his family on TLC’s The Baldwins.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
