Late Wednesday night, a man suspected of committing a triple homicide in Mahomet, Illinois, was fatally shot by Berwyn police.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., a tragic event unfolded resulting in the death of three individuals in the 1100 block of Riverside Drive. Two victims lost their lives while receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities, and one individual was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
The culprit, later recognized as John Lyons, a 24-year-old resident of Westchester, made his escape to Berwyn. Reports indicated his presence, armed, on Home Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Following an initial elusion of law enforcement, Lyons forcibly entered a residence on Wenonah Avenue, where he fatally harmed two dogs before further conflict ensued.
A violent confrontation ensued as Lyons confronted the police in a backyard, disregarding commands and discharging his weapon at the officers. In response, law enforcement officers had to resort to the use of lethal force, resulting in Lyons’ demise. Fortunately, no officers sustained any injuries during the incident.
Far-right influencer Nicholas “Nick” Fuentes claimed on X that Lyons targeted his residence. Fuentes shared footage from his Ring doorbell camera showing Lyons armed with a pistol, crossbow, and incendiary devices, attempting to enter his home while he was livestreaming.
Fuentes posted on social media:
Last night an armed killer made an attempt on my life at my home, which was recently doxed on this platform. The gunman carried a pistol, crossbow, and incendiary devices. I believe he intended to kill me. He is now dead. I am okay!
According to police, the would-be assassin committed a triple homicide in southern Illinois early yesterday before he arrived at my doorstep with his pistol drawn, calling my name. I am grateful to God that I am still alive today.
Tragically, the gunman broke into a neighbor’s home to evade police & killed two of their dogs. While heartbreaking, it could have been so unimaginably worse. God have mercy. Doxing is not a game. This nihilistic lynch mob behavior must end before anyone else is killed.

Fuentes himself was unharmed during the incident, but says he plans to relocate, writing:
In the meantime I will have to contract 24 hour security to protect myself and my property.
Fuentes posted video surveillance footage of the scary incident:
The killer parked his car in front of my house and approached my door with his pistol drawn and what appears to be a crossbow. I was livestreaming at the time.

Holy crap. This guy killed 3 family members then went to Nick Fuentes front door, yelling “Yo Nick” before cops took him down. He was live streaming. pic.twitter.com/zKRAzg3oyy

Fuentes detailed the tragic incident shortly after his first hearing fot a battery charge on Thursday, which stems from a separate confrontation outside of his home last month. A controversial podcaster, Fuentes has repeatedly been targeted at his home after his address was leaked online.
