An out-of-control truck slammed into two first responder vehicles in Michigan this week, shocking dash camera video showed.Â
First responders were responding to another accident on a snow-covered highway at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when a truck crashed into a fire truck on the side of I-94. The truck then flipped on its side and hit a sheriff’s patrol vehicle parked in front of the fire truck.
The entire horrifying incident was caught on dashcam video from another vehicle parked behind the fire truck.Â
The original overturned vehicle being assisted by first responders can be seen on the side of the highway in the video before the crash.Â
In the video, several first responders can be seen running away from the first truck as it moves toward them after it was hit.
“We urge everyone to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary during severe winter weather,” the sheriff’s office emphasized on Facebook while sharing a video of the incident. The message included a plea to exercise extreme caution, reduce speed, and allocate extra time for travel when on the road to ensure safety for all, including first responders.
The sheriff’s office highlighted that Thursday’s storm led to risky driving conditions throughout Kalamazoo County, causing multiple vehicle accidents and slide-offs, particularly on the highways.
