Drew Barrymore was once “detained” for public urination.
The actress looked back on the wild incident with her ex-boyfriend Luke Wilson, who appeared on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.
Barrymore was reminded of the memory after Wilson recalled her making him a “great black beans and rice dish” every Sunday.
“I’d be sitting and watching golf and I’d be like, ‘This is great! Hollywood is great!’” Wilson said.
That’s when Barrymore brought up the Beck concert they once attended together.
“I got stopped for public urination. And there I was peeking out of the bushes like, ‘Hi,’” she said, while Wilson chimed in, “They detained us for a little bit and frisked us.”
Barrymore added, “He gave us a warning but we got let go with a warning. And then we were like, ‘Alright! Let’s go!’”
This is hardly the first time Barrymore has opened up about peeing somewhere other than a bathroom. During an October 2024 episode of her daytime talk show, the star grossed out comedian Leslie Jones when she admitted she “recently wanted to pee outside.”
“But it was so dark, I ended up falling in a hole and spraining my ankle,” Barrymore explained, to which a repulsed Jones replied, “Because you not supposed to pee like that! That was God! That was God, like, ‘Go find a bathroom!’ White people, yo! That’s white people stuff.”
During that same episode, Jones joked that Barrymore was “not invited to [her] house” to use her pool.
“I’ll clean myself and I’ll get all prepped and then I can come over and swim,” Barrymore promised, before adding that she’d even wear a “baby diaper” if she had to.
“Ew!” Jones fired back. “Isn’t the main thing that we need to ask is: What’s wrong with your functions? We might need to get them checked.”
