Terror in Germany: Drive Rams SUV Through Street Carnival

Once again, a disturbing incident took place in Mannheim, Germany, early on Monday. An unidentified individual drove a small Euro-style SUV into a crowd that was gathered to celebrate Rose Monday.

Reports from the police stated that a driver deliberately targeted pedestrians at a street carnival in Germany, resulting in the death of two individuals and causing injuries to 25 others. The incident occurred in an area that was already on high alert for potential terrorist activities.

The driver, driving an SUV, accelerated into a pedestrian zone in Mannheim, located in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg. After the reckless act, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, as informed by sources within the police to Bild.

At least two people were killed and 25 others injured, the outlet said, with videos shared online showing multiple bodies strewn on the ground as first responders attempted to resuscitate some of the most seriously injured.

A second clip shows armed police chasing a suspect, who was arrested soon after the carnage, according to BILD.

The suspect has not been identified, nor were any possible motives for this attack mentioned, although it’s more than likely that we may very well guess as to the attacker’s motivation:

It was unclear whether the driver deliberately targeted the Rose Monday carnival celebrations in the region — where police had been on alert for possible terrorism following a string of recent attacks.

Social media accounts linked to the Islamic State militant group called for attacks on events in Cologne and Nuremberg, officials had said.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser canceled her attendance at the Monday’s parade in Cologne — the country’s biggest — due to the events in Mannheim, a spokesperson for the minister said.

Germany, a country that I have spent time in and have been very fond of, has done this to themselves. They have allowed in immigrants nearly without check, from North Africa and the Middle East, and now they are paying the price for that. Germany may well be under Sharia law in another generation or two, and they seem to lack the wherewithal to even talk about the problem.

However, police did not immediately speculate on a motive for Monday’s deadly car attack.

You don’t say.

This attack, in particular, hits home. I’ve spent some time in Mannheim. I was stationed in Heidelberg, not far from Mannheim, only a short distance away, and spent a few days of leisure mooching around Mannheim. Great food, great beer, and friendly people.

Once upon a time, it was expected that immigrants to a country would assimilate, that they came to their new home to become full members of their new, chosen society. People immigrated to the United States to become Americans, and so on. But many of the current floods of “refugees” swarming into Europe and, yes, here into the United States, have no intention of assimilating; they will insist on forcing their new homes to become like the ones they fled.

Of course, we have our own problem politicians here, who sympathize with the criminal or the terrorist over the victims:

To be fair, we don’t yet know the identity or motivation of this attacker in Germany. We can guess – and we may very well be right, based on recent experiences with such events. But Germany and, indeed, all of Europe will keep suffering these kinds of attacks as long as they allow the unvetted, unscreened flows from the Third World.

We may already have lost Europe.
