There was once a notion known as “personal space,” encompassing not just physical boundaries but also a sense of privacy from unwanted noise. Well, unless you happen to find yourself in a diner in New Jersey, where personal space may not always be respected, based on my own firsthand encounters.
In contemporary times, the concept of personal space appears to be diminishing. Barstool Sports creator Dave Portnoy recently shared a noteworthy instance of this discourtesy from some time ago (specifically, last year, though the message remains relevant) in a post I happened upon just now.

He made a fair point; sharing your personal conversations publicly is rude, at the very least. And yet we seem to be seeing it, more and more.
