The statement indicated that the Internal Affairs Bureau of the New York City Police Department was collaborating with law enforcement authorities to probe allegations made against former Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey.
According to payroll records, Maddrey’s accuser emerged as the top earner within the NYPD during the fiscal year 2024, accumulating a sum exceeding $400,000, with over half of this amount attributed to overtime wages. In her complaint filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, she accused Maddrey of engaging in “quid pro quo sexual harassment,” alleging that he had coerced her into providing “unwanted sexual favors in exchange for overtime opportunities.”
Maddrey, through his lawyer, described it as a “consensual, adult relationship” and denied allegations of sexual misconduct.
Tisch directed questions to the U.S. Attorney’s office, which declined to comment.
