BritBox fans have plenty to look forward to in the new year.
On Thursday, the British streaming service revealed its lineup for 2025 along with a teaser video showcasing popular returning shows like Vera Season 14 and Karen Pirie Season 2, as well as new series featuring well-known actors.
In one of the upcoming shows titled Douglas is Cancelled, Hugh Bonneville and Karen Gillan headline a series focusing on gender dynamics and the impact of social media trials. The show will premiere on March 6 and follows Douglas Bellowes (played by Bonneville) whose life goes into a tailspin after a tweet alleging him of making a sexist remark goes viral.
Additionally, Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero features a cast including Matthew Rhys, Anjelica Huston, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Ella Lily Hyland in a series set in 1936 England, scheduled to air next spring.
Not only does next year bring exciting additions to the streaming service’s library, but the rest of 2024 is rounded out by new crime dramas Joan and The Jetty, as well as Shetland Season 9 and several holiday and Christmas specials.
