The fires in the very affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Southern California has caused people to literally run for their lives.
Over 30,000 people have been evacuated, often leaving with just their small pets and the shirts on their backs.
And DailyMail.com has learned that many of the super wealthy have flowed into the luxury hotels in nearby Beverly Hills that charge $700 a night.
Several top hotels like the Beverly Hills Hotel, The Four Seasons Beverly Hills, the Peninsula Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria are all sold out.
A source told DailyMail.com they scrambled to get high-class accommodations after being forced to leave their $7M home in the Palisades.
‘I left my home early and contacted the Hilton right away. They only had two rooms left. I consider myself fortunate to have secured a room,’ said Lisa Ann, a resident of Palisades for a long time.
‘The fires in the upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood have forced residents to flee for their safety. Many have sought refuge at the Beverly Hills Hotel,’

‘They sold out so fast, as soon as people started smelling smoke they went on hotels.com,’ said the alarmed PP resident.
She also said the hotel is packed to the gills.
‘There are people everywhere, hauling in their Gucci luggage and animals, dogs and cats too, I saw a parrot in a cage. It’s a madhouse,’ she added.
And the bar is full.
‘The tension is extremely high; there’s a sense of helplessness. People are trying to cope by ordering strong drinks like vodka straight up. I witnessed a woman in tears, her mascara running down her face while she was on the phone.’
She also went across the street to the Peninsula for a late snack.
‘The bar is packed with millionaires asking for information, they are searching the Citizen app and freaking out,’ said Lisa Ann.
‘Someone was already looking at a new home on Realtor.com, said they are leaving for Utah or Oregon. Everyone is shook. They want out of California.’
Reese Witherspoon has a home in the fire zone. It is not know if she was in LA at the time and had to evacuate

And the dress code is different.
‘No one is dressed up, gone are the Louboutins and Prada. it’s all t-shirts and jeans and tennis shoes.’Â
Many of the famous people that live in the PP neighborhood are Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hanks.
Ben was seen driving out of the Pacific Palisades as TMZ reported he helped his ex-wife Jennifer Garner get out. Affleck’s other ex-wife Jennifer Lopez does not live in the fire zone.Â

‘My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.Â

She then said: ‘It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze.Â
‘Neighbors have taken care of neighbors. We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives but when it hits your community, it’s particularly shocking. Life on life’s terms.
‘ If ever there was need for the use of the phrase MY HAND IN YOURS, it is right now. Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.’

Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag have tragically lost their home in the massive wildfire sweeping through Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
Pratt, 41, was captured in photos as he watched the rapidly advancing fire move toward his home, which is in an area featuring many celebrity estates that are also at risk of burning.
Sources told TMZ that Spencer and Heidi’s home was completely destroyed after catching fire on Tuesday.
Luckily, the couple and their two sons were able to safely evacuate earlier in the day before the flames got too close.
However, they are said to be distraught by the staggering loss.
Spencer documented firefighters’ attempts to contain the blaze with a video posted to his Instagram stories showing an airplane dropping water on a nearby mountain.
