A shooting and crash in Florida that resulted in three people being charged was a result of road rage, police say.
Around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, a situation unfolded involving the drivers of a Jeep Compass and a Buick sedan in a parking lot. The Buick driver, identified as Anthony Williams, turned left into the lot in front of the Jeep driver, Raesean Poole, who was waiting to make a left turn. According to Bradenton police’s Facebook post, Poole confronted Williams about the lack of a turn signal.
Following the confrontation, Williams and a teenage passenger from the Buick got out of the vehicle. Poole claimed that Williams displayed a gun during the argument. Video footage from the scene depicts Poole attempting to leave in the Jeep multiple times but ultimately engaging in a heated argument with Williams.
As the situation escalated, the final confrontation occurred when Poole allegedly accelerated the Jeep towards Williams, resulting in a collision with a stop sign and a tree. Williams sustained an injury to his leg from the impact. The details of this incident were shared by the police, who labeled the encounter as a dangerous escalation that led to physical harm.
