Florida teacher, aged 28, alleged to have sent inappropriate picture to middle school student through social media

A Florida middle school teacher allegedly sent a nude image of herself to a 14-year-old student, authorities said. 

Oliver Fell, aged 28, a former teacher at Carlos E. Haile Middle School in Brandenton, has been accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with one of his students, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. 

An investigation was initiated in March after a student came forward on March 3 and informed a school resource officer that Fell had reportedly been communicating with him through Snapchat since December 2024.

Irene Nikitopoulos, the principal at Carlos E. Haile Middle School, acknowledged the matter in a letter to parents. 

She said it “took several weeks of investigation to confirm the allegations of the illegal communications” and that Fell was reassigned.

She said the district continues to cooperate with the investigation.
