Democrats are so confused at this point.
Their affection for illegal aliens is sinking them, big time.
Congressional members flying to El Salvador to defend illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia were only adding fuel to the fire. The situation worsened when it was discovered that they were staying at a luxurious hotel during their visit, making their actions appear even more inappropriate.
Notice the spokeswoman doesn’t say in that statement that they will continue to go to El Salvador.
One has to think the polling on the issue was bad.
It’s ironic that Team Jeffries is now denying any wrongdoing in this matter. Their denial seems to contradict any hope of a sensible resolution, indicating a lack of awareness on their part. While they continue these trips, they are only deepening the hole they find themselves in, unless they decide to halt these actions and rectify the situation, preferably without using taxpayers’ money.
People mocked them on X and laughed about the report.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was one of those laughing. He told Democrats to “keep it up!”
CNN commentator Scott Jennings said, “Sounds like Hakeem Jeffries finally came around to our way of thinking. Too late.”
Fox’s Aisha Hasnie responded, “Well that didn’t go as planned.”
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) condemned the visits as counterproductive, labeling the Democrats as disconnected from the general population. The actions of these lawmakers only serve to highlight a growing divide between them and the American people.
We’ll have to see if the Democrats have any more trips to luxury hotels in El Salvador now, after their protestations. I’m going to guess not.
But any way you slice it, it is too late for them on this issue. They can’t change the pictures. They can’t take back the dumb remarks defending the illegal alien. The Democrats have already shown their true colors, and the American people are not likely to forget they stood by an illegal alien, alleged MS-13 member, and seemed to care more about him than about murdered Americans like Rachel Morin. It’s not just about what they did in this case, it’s what they haven’t done to help protect Americans.
Add that to their crazy response to Judge Hannah Dugan’s arrest, and they’ve painted themselves into a corner.
