It’s been a tough time for the Democrats over the past few months. They are in chaos on the inside, constantly fighting each other.
This week, there was news that Randi Weingarten, a long-time member of the DNC and leader of AFT, decided to step down from her at-large position. She cited issues with the DNC’s outreach efforts as the reason for her decision. Weingarten had previously supported former DNC Vice Chair David Hogg.
The Times story went on:
Six individuals with knowledge of the party’s fundraising activities, who preferred to remain anonymous while discussing the finances candidly, revealed that major donors, crucial for the party’s funding, had been slow in contributing this year under Mr. Martin’s fundraising efforts.
It is evident that the DNC heavily relies on big donors, despite their attempts to portray the Republicans as the party favored by billionaires. Additionally, there are internal sources leaking information to the press. This raises questions about whether there is a deliberate attempt to undermine or remove Martin from his position. Regardless of the motive behind these actions, the situation does not bode well for the DNC.
Martin said it wasn’t their plan at this point to borrow and he insisted their grass-roots fundraising was strong.
He also started a new streaming show on YouTube, “The Daily Blueprint,” that the Times described as having “high-end production.” But it’s gotten very little viewership, with some shows getting fewer than 1000 views. Yeesh, that’s awful. You aren’t doing much reaching out if you can’t even draw more people than that.
Grab the popcorn, I’m sure they can always go lower, and we’ll be here for it.
