The Governor posted a message to re-affirm the state’s strong relationship with Canada as a key tourism partner.
Pritzker wants to reassure Canadians that Illinois and the U.S. welcome their neighbors to the north, despite the current political tensions between the two nations.
“I understand if Canadians feel hesitant about visiting the U.S. given our current president and his recent actions. But as the Governor and Illinois’ chief marketing officer, I want to assure you that we are still excited to host you,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “Here in Illinois, we are prepared to show you the hospitality akin to what you would experience in Canada. Traveling south through the Great Lakes region, we are poised to greet you at the heart of it all.”
