One person was injured at a Wayne, Michigan church on Sunday morning after a suspect opened fire on the congregation mid-service. Â
The Wayne Police Department reported that they dealt with a situation involving a person shooting at Crosspointe Church in Wayne earlier today. When the officers arrived, they found out that a security guard at the church had used a firearm to stop and eliminate the shooter. One person was injured with a gunshot wound to the leg. To ensure safety, it is advised to stay away from that area. The police are actively looking into the incident.
Chaotic video on social media reportedly shows congregants ducking behind their seats before running towards the back of the church.
The outlet said that the armed suspect was on his way into the Christian church when a person outside the church tried to stop him using a truck.Â
The FBI is monitoring the attack.Â
