The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has made its decision on the inductees for this year’s ceremony, and fans can look forward to watching the star-studded event from the comfort of their homes. The ceremony will be broadcast live for both cable subscribers and those who have cut the cord.
Initially, a list of 14 bands and musicians was put forward as potential inductees for the 2025 Hall of Fame. However, during the recent episode of “American Idol” on Sunday (April 27), the list was narrowed down to seven final inductees. The lucky honorees include Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Outkast, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes.
While Phish, Mariah Carey, and Oasis were also contenders for the recognition, it was Phish that garnered the most fan votes with nearly 330,000 votes. Despite this show of support, Phish did not make it into the Hall of Fame this time around.
The inductees won’t be the only celebrities honored that evening. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will also honor Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon with the musical influence award. Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will also be receiving the musical excellence award, while Lenny Waronker will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The evening will surely be a can’t-miss event. The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class included Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool & The Gang, and Peter Frampton.
The ceremony will be take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Saturday, November 8.
The ceremony will air live on ABC Nov. 8. But Disney+ subscribers will also be able to stream it live on the platform. The ceremony will be available to stream beginning Nov. 9 on Hulu for those who are not subscribed to Disney+ or the Disney+ and Hulu bundle.
Subscribers looking to watch the ceremony live can subscribe to the Disney+ and Hulu bundle, which offers an ad-supported basic plan for $10.99 a month or a premium, ad-free plan at 19.99 a month.
ABC is also the home for the Oscars and the Emmys, both of which have been available to stream on Hulu.
