A plus-size influencer, Gracie Bon, who requires two seats for rides at Disneyland, has described her visits to the theme park as a ‘nightmare’ due to constant staring from other visitors.
During what was supposed to be a joyful family outing, 27-year-old Gracie Bon experienced a stream of onlookers doing double-takes and even recording her curvaceous figure.
The Panama-born model shared a video about the ordeal to her 10 million Instagram followers and it has so far been viewed 5.2 million times.
In the video, Gracie says: ‘Is it just me or are people not used to seeing big girls like me at Disneyland?
‘Today I came to Disney with my family ready to have fun. But the second I arrived, the nightmare started.
‘Some parents started recording me, so I decided to change the game. If they were going to record me, I was going to record them.’
Gracie gave her glasses, which had a camera lens in the frame, to her brother.
‘I let him capture everything. And let me tell you, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
‘People were shocked to see my body, like “Hello this is America.”
‘Almost 40 percent of people here are plus size, so why were they acting like I was some rare creature?
‘What do people expect me to do? Shrink myself so I can go to an amusement park?
‘I can’t just wake up one day and be skinny, it’s 2025 and people need to realize that not everybody looks the same and that’s okay.’
She went on: ‘Anyways, I wasn’t going to let that ruin my day.
‘I had so much fun, I needed two seats on the Slinky Dog [ride] but that just means double the fun!’
She ended her video by asking: ‘What would you do if you were me?’
In the video, Gracie can be seen walking around the park and taking pictures with characters as visitors film her body with shocked faces.
She also captured the moment she took up two seats on a Toy Story ride.
The post attracted 87,700 likes and almost 11,000 comments.
Despite her seemingly honest video, commenters sided with the onlookers arguing that she knew why people were looking at her.
‘You’re not naturally “big,” that’s the issue,’ someone wrote.
‘No one wants to see that at a theme park with children,’ a user claimed.
‘Girl, you know why,’ a comment read.
‘You thrive off of the attention,’ a person argued.
Another said: ‘It’s not because you’re plus size. It’s because your body has been modified and looks too ridiculous for most people.’
‘They are looking cause it’s not natural,’ a commenter claimed.
‘She’s not serious,’ a user wrote.
Another argued: ‘Girl please, you love the attention.’
This wasn’t the first time the influencer was called out about her body.
Addressing criticisms about her body, Gracie Bon has refuted claims of undergoing any cosmetic procedures, asserting that her physique is natural and a gift from God.
