Nathan Vilas Laatsch, a 28-year-old IT specialist with Top Secret clearance for his role at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), has been arrested for attempting to turn over classified military intelligence to a foreign nation.
The reason he was willing to commit such an alleged crime is pure TDS – He finds the current administration to be “extremely disturbing.”
It’s something when your mental frailties prompt you to engage in treasonous conduct and betray your country.
Laatsch, according to court documents, sent an email to whom he believed to be a foreign official but was, in fact, an FBI agent, saying, “The recent actions of the current administration are extremely disturbing to me.”
“I do not agree or align with the values of this administration and intend to act to support the values that the United States at one time stood for.”
Prompted by that disagreement, Laatsch on two occasions transcribed classified material into a notebook, transferred the information to a document on a thumb drive, then dropped the drive at a location presumably to be retrieved by the foreign government.
They were instead intercepted by the FBI.
