The ceremony began with a video presentation showcasing the Bibas family’s life before and during the tragic events of October 7. Argentina’s U.N. Ambassador Francisco Fabián Tropepi delivered a speech during the memorial event.
Tropepi emphasized the importance of remembering the tragic events and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. According to him, the events of October 7 were not just another incident in the ongoing conflict but a cruel act of terrorism.
The Bibas family had dual citizenship in both Israel and Argentina. In response to the devastating loss of the mother and her children, Argentine President Javier Milei announced two days of national mourning to honor their memory.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Milei in a post on X, saying the declaration “should serve as an inspiration to all leaders of the civilized world.”
“We will not stop raising our voice until every hostage still in Gaza is brought home, until the terrorists of Hamas are defeated, until the world fully understands the magnitude of horror these people endured,” Tropepi said.
