In his new Netflix special What Had Happened Was, Jamie Foxx took the opportunity to address the current legal situation of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is facing charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Addressing online rumors that Diddy had supposedly attempted to harm him, Foxx humorously dismissed these claims as he commenced his special. He comically mentioned leaving Diddy’s notorious gatherings “early,” separating himself from the scandalous events described in the grand jury indictment where Diddy is alleged to have coerced individuals into participating in illicit activities.
It was reported that during the raids on Diddy’s residences in Miami and Los Angeles, authorities discovered a substantial amount of baby oil and lubricant, with approximately “1,000 bottles” seized. Foxx did not miss the chance to incorporate this detail into his comedic routine during the special.
“Hell no,” Foxx said. “I left them parties early. I was out by nine. Something don’t look right. It’s slippery in here.”
He later brought Diddy up again when he was talking about the life-threatening medical scare he experienced in April 2023. Foxx revealed during the special that he had suffered a brain bleed and a stroke, during which he lost his memory and his ability to walk.
He admitted that being unconscious during that time “was kind of oddly peaceful” — until he “saw the tunnel.”
“I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light,” he said, before joking, “It was hot in that tunnel. Shit, am I going to the wrong place in this motherfucker? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the Devil like, ‘C’mon.’ Or is that Puffy?”
As the crowd laughed in shock, he added, “I’m fucking around. But if it was Puffy, he had a flaming bottle of Johnson [& Johnson].”
Reports ahead of the Netflix special claimed Foxx said that he was the one who “called the FBI” on Diddy. One fan who attended the taping claimed Foxx said something along the lines of: “People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If he was, I would’ve been dead.”
If true, that statement was not included in the final Netflix special. Foxx certainly took some shots at Diddy, but he also ribbed Katt Williams and delivered several celebrity impersonations throughout the special.
Diddy was arrested in September and is facing a federal indictment on racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He also stands accused of sexual assault and rape in multiple lawsuits.
